Ed and Karen are still farming 1000 acres of land in the Ghost pine district, growing crop of weat, barley, canola, flax and peas. Ed produces hay wich is unsuitable for crops. Ed established the yard on an area of cropland where there were no trees or buildings in 1961. Over the years trees are planted buildings erected. Although the land is basically flat, bare prairie, there is stunning beauty in the deep coolies and man made ponds. The seasonal changes of the landcape from spring seeding to the lush green of the wheat and barley, golden yellow canola and blue flax in the summer, to golden autumn harvest leads to the restful white of winter. We enjoy life and feel fortunate that our children and grandchildren are fairly near, and that we are able to see them often.
